(18 September 2021, Guangzhou) The Hurun Research Institute today released the Hurun Most Valuable Restaurant Chains in China 2021, in association with catering franchise strict selection content platform Big Eyes Bizopps, ranked according to their value, defined as market capitalisation for listed companies and valuations for non-listed companies. The cut-off date used was 30 July 2021. The value of the Top 6 updated to 12 September 2021. This is the first time Hurun Research Institute released the list of restaurant chains industry.
The "restaurant chains" in this list refer to those established in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. Restaurant chains based in China but founded abroad such as Yum China and McDonald's China were excluded.
The list of the Top 50 Most Valuable Restaurant Chains in China covered Snacks & Fast Food, Dining, Tea & Coffee, Hot Pot, Bakery and Barbecue categories. Shanghai and Beijing have the most, with 10 and 8, respectively, accounting for one-third of the list. Guangzhou and Shenzhen followed with 4 each.
